The Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture has over the years, contributed immensly to the development of aquaclture sector in the country. The institute has developed several need based, viable technologies, that are contributing to more than third of total fish production at present. Till today, the CIFA has generated 16 full proof freshwater aquaculture technology, which are under various stages of adoption. These technolgies covers a complete set of packages and practices from seed production, pond mangement to post harvest processing. With each passing year, the Institute is adding up to the basket of technologies to be offered to the farmer, rural youth, entrepruners etc.

10. Seed Production and grow-out culture of Indian river prawn,Macrobrachium malcolmsonii.

11. Freshwater pearl culture.

12. Ornamental fish farming.

13. Wastewater treatment through aquaculture.

14. Commercial feeds for carps,magur and freshwater prawns.

15.Control of Epizootic Ulcreative Syndrome with 'CIFAX' formulation.

16. Diagnostic kits, immunodiagnostic aids and therapeutics for diagnosis and treatment of fish diseases.
